Rawborg Series

Rawborg Series (2020-Current) is a world-building project confronting the aestheticisation of the Digital Yellow Womxn. Spanning moving images, sound performance and interactive websites, the series unfolds beyond the white walls into speculative online archives, lore and experiential transmedia.

Rooted in Ornamentalism and techno-orientalism, the project constructs a speculative world where cyborgs, or “Rawborgs”, embody compartmentalised parts of a person’s psyche.

Rather than staging cyborgs as threats, the series reconfigures them as vessels of organic cognition: blank but alive, feared yet familiar. What happens when the feared/fantasised cyborg is made to represent organicity? Her machinery is not sterile but organic, polished but not a doll. As the Rawborgs operate, direct and control, her agency vivified, distinguishable from a mere ornament.
